OLIVER TWIST (2005)

“Do you know what I consider the greatest sin in the world my dear? Ingratitude.
And that’s what you’re guilty of.
Ingratitude."

Comment:
Some times when we are standing on the top of success, we forget about our pal and the people who supported us along the way. In this occasion, let’s reminisce sometime, have we thanked everyone? Have we thanked God, our parents, brothers and sisters, our mentors and friends for what they had done for us so that we can become like what we are today? And then what can we do for them now to show our grateful? There is a say “Ingratitude is the essence of vileness”. We are sure we are not going to chose to be a part of vileness because we all know how to express our gratitude to all those who had supported us.

Summary of the Movie:

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS (2008) (b)

“I would rather do nothing and be happy than do something that I don’t love.”

Comment:
Sometimes the situation above happens to us. We want to do things that we love but we have no choice. Thus, we just keep doing things although we are unhappy about them. Many people achieve their success because they do what they love most. If you feel like you want to do something that you love, then you better prepare for it. Spare some time for it. Who knows someday you can leave something you don’t love and just focusing in the thing that you love. It isn’t hard to do if there where your heart is.

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS (2008) (a)

“You know that’s the problem. You can’t handle the pressure. As soon as you think you’re gonna lose, you quit.”

Comment:
Actually this quote is rather personal. I used to be a coward who couldn’t finish what I had started. I quitted when I was about one inch left to the finish line. I couldn’t handle the pressure. However, I learnt that I will never embrace success if I keep quitting for the things I had done. Today, I take every pressure as the vitamins to grow better. Pressure can crack pipes but pressure can make diamonds too.

FORREST GUMP (1994) (d)

“Why are you dying mama?”
“It’s my time. It’s just my time. Oh, now, don’t you be afraid sweetheart. Death is just a part of life. Something we’re all destined to do. I didn’t know it but I was destined to be your mama. I did the best I could.”
“You did good.”
“Well…I happen to believe you make your own destiny. You have to do the best with what God gave you.”
“What’s my destiny mom?”
“You are going to have to figure that out for yourself. Life is a box of chocolate Forrest, you never know what you’re going to get.”

Comment:
Death is just inevitable. So let’s forget about death and stop worrying about it. Let’s start worrying about life and to fill it day by day. Be satisfied with what God has blessed us and make best use of it. Life is a box of chocolate, we’ll never know what we are going to get. Therefore, do the best in your life. Then, although we do not know what our destiny is, or what kind of chocolate in the box, we know one thing that the chocolate we are about to eat is always sweet. The life we are living will always be sweet. Even though, it requires lots of patience.

Summary of the Movie:
Forrest, Forrest Gump is a simple man with little brain activity but good intentions. He struggles through childhood with his best and only friend Jenny. His 'mama' teaches him the ways of life and leaves him to choose his destiny. Forrest joins the army for service in Vietnam, finding new friends called Dan and Bubba, he wins medals, starts a table tennis craze, creates a famous shrimp fishing fleet, inspires people to jog, create the smiley, write bumper stickers and songs, donating to people and meeting the president several times. However this is all irrelevant to Forrest who can only think of his childhood sweetheart Jenny. Who has messed up her life. Although in the end all he wants to prove is that anyone can love anyone.

FORREST GUMP (1994) (c)

“I am sorry I ruined your New Year’s Eve party. She tastes like cigarette.”

Comment:
Cigarette is not just about health issue. Cigarette can be a sexual issue too. I know it’s not easy to quit smoke but at least brush your teeth before making love will you?

FORREST GUMP (1994) (b)

“Run Forrest! Run!”

Comment:
Forrest Gum ran for no particular reason but he made it across the United States of America. He became a story and then turns into history. What about us? We all have goals and targets in life right. We have reasons to live. However, time is so short. We got to run to achieve our goals. Job goals, family goals, health goals or self improvement goals, we have to “run” in order to enjoy the achievement longer than we expected. If we cannot be a story than at least we can create our own sweet history. Thus, get up, get your shoes on and run, Run for your life goals. Time is so short.

FORREST GUMP (1994) (a)

“Don’t ever let everybody tell you they’re better than you Forrest. If God intended everybody to be the same, He’d have given us all braces on our legs.”

Comment:
God has an obvious reason to create us different one another. He wants us to complete and fill one another. We are all one of a kind. We have our weakness and strength. We should not look down on other people but help them out of their problems instead. The strong helps the weak and the reach help the poor. I know that this may sound cliché but I believe that this is the action that keeps the world turning round and round. This is the action that makes social, economic, politics, law, religion etc. work the way they should. Respect!

ACROSS THE UNIVERSE (2007)

“Music’s the only thing that makes sense anymore, man. Play it loud enough. It keeps the demons at bay.”

Comment:
Are you having a bad day today? You feel like weary, broken hearted and under pressure. Well, those are the demons within you. They are waiting to crush you to the ground if you just let them control you. Give yourself a break. You deserve a peaceful of mind at one point. PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS THE (2007) (b)

“Some things are fun the first time you do it and then not the next.”

Comment:
Routine. People can’t live with routine. We all get bored sometimes right? Things that used to be fun are now annoying us. Take some time to do something else, go on vacation, do your hobbies, or join a group to refresh your body and mind. Then, get back to routine again. Bring the new spirit and new thing that we found during the refreshing and we’ll feel the routine like something that we do for the first time again.

PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS THE (2007) (a)

Hey. Don’t ever let somebody tell you “you can’t do something”. Not even me All right?
All right.
You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can’t do something themselves they wanna tell you “you can’t do it”. If you want something, go and get it. Period.”

Comment:
We all do not want somebody to tell us what to do. We all like to do thing according to what we want to do. We feel free to express ourselves. It hurts so badly when somebody says discourage sentence like “you can’t do anything” to us. Well don’t be sad. Take that sentence as a whip for us to run faster to achieve life goals. Never stop dreaming. People invented many great and beautiful things in this world. They all started from dreams. Believe that you can do it and in the end you’ll be proud of yourself.

INTO THE WILD (2007) (c)

“…but I want to tell you something. From the bits and pieces I put together. You know, from what you told me about your family, your mother and your dad, and I know you’ve got your problems with the church too. But, there’s some kind of bigger thing we can all appreciate, it sounds like you don’t mind calling it God. But when you forgive, you love. And when you love, God’s light shines on you.

Comment:
It is so easy for us to feel and to reach for God. There are many ways to reach God and feel the light of God. Still, forgiveness and love are the easiest ways to do. Practically, there are people who find it hard to forgive. Live becomes restless. Forgiveness is the key to unhappiness but forgiveness is the door to your happiness.

Summary of the Movie:
Based on a true story. After graduating from Emory University in 1992, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandoned his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters who shape his life.

INTO THE WILD (2007) (b)

“You really believe in love then?”
“Yeah. Totally. This is a love story that staggering to everybody in the whole world. That God really loves us a lot. Does that answer that?”
“Yeah.”
“Good.”

Comment:
The story of God’s love for human being is an eternal story. However, it is always a staggering story to some people. Because we just don’t realize that there is God who’s always taking care of us day by day. There is love everywhere. Share it with everybody.

SHOOT ‘EM UP (2007) (b)

“You know why a gun is better than a wife?”
“Don’t know.”
“Well, you can put a silencer on a gun”

Comment:
 this quote is rather sarcasm. In real life husbands often deal with the situation where the wives talk too much. It gets worse when we cannot do anything about it. For the wives this quote may act as a warning so that in the future, your husbands will chose you instead of the gun, TV, car or Job.

Summary of the Movie:
A gritty, fast-paced action thriller, SHOOT ‘EM UP kicks into high gear with a memorable opening scene and never relents. Clive Owen stars as Mr. Smith, a mysterious loner who teams up with an unlikely ally (Monica Belluci) to protect a new born baby from a determined criminal (Paul Giamatti) who hunts them throughout the bowels of the city .

SHOOT ‘EM UP (2007) (a)

“You know what I hate? I hate these 40-year old jack-holes wearing ponytails. That ponytail doesn’t make you look hip, young, or cool.”

Comment:
Wrong style in a wrong age. Trapped in old fashion dress is a crucial and klise matter for some people. The thing is they just don’t realize it. And they still think that it is cool. In the others’ eyes, they look weird and so old fashion. Updating is important in today’s life. Updating is not about information but our performance as well.

JURASSIC PARK (1993)

“Life will find the way”

Comment:
In life, losing the one that has become part of our lives is always unbearable. We may unexpectedly lose the love ones, get fired; break a relationship up, get broke, etc. We feel like it is the end of the world, no more hope, no light. However, surprisingly we will still get up in the morning and survive. We may even pick up the pieces and stand up on our feet again. Life goes on and miraculously finds away to continue. When trouble comes, always remember that no matter how hard our trouble is, life will find the way.

Summary of the Movie:
Scientists develop a means of bringing dinosaurs to life using DNA taken from dino' blood, which has been preserved inside insects encased in amber. Whilst Hammond is showing off his dinosaur 'theme park' to a selected audience [a lawyer (Gerrano), mathematician (Malcolm), dino' expert (Grant), palaeobotanist (Sattler) and his grandchildren (Tim & Lex)], Nedry (computer expert) disables the security system so that he can make his escape with some stolen embryos. This enables all the dinosaurs to escape their enclosures... Look out the dinosaurs are coming!

INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL (2008)

“The word for gold is translated as the treasure, but treasure wasn't gold, it was knowledge. Knowledge is the treasure”

Comment:
I used to think that investment is all about material possession. I thought that material possession is the only comfort in life. I was wrong. As the matter of fact, we should spend more money for knowledge and less money for materials. With knowledge, we will continually be richer.

Summary of the Movie:
Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) newest adventure begins in the desert Southwest in 1957 the height of the cold war. Indy and his sidekick Mac (Ray Winstone) have barely escaped a close scrape with nefarious Soviet agents on a remote air field. Now, professor Jones has returned home to Marshall College only to find thing have gone from bad to worse. His close friend and dean of the college (Jim Broadbent) explans that Indy’s recent activities have made him the object of suspicion.

JUNO (2007)

“Look, in my opinion, the best thing you can do is… find the person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you. The right person who’s still gonna think the sun shines out of your ass. That’s the kind of person who’s worth stickin’ with.”

Comment:
True love is an unconditional love. Though it is not easy to be found, never ever let go when it is calling you. When it comes to pick you, don’t wait ‘till it’s gone. If you feel that you need to express your love then show and say it. We never know what we got ‘till it’s gone.

Summary of The Movie:
A tale told over four seasons, starting in autumn when Juno, a 16-year-old high-school junior in Minnesota, discovers she's pregnant after one event in a chair with her best friend, Bleeker. In the waiting room of an abortion clinic, the quirky and whip-sharp Juno decides to give birth and to place the child with an adoptive couple. She finds one in the PennySaver personals, contacts them, tells her dad and step-mother, and carries on with school. The chosen parents, upscale yuppies (one of whom is cool and laid back, the other meticulous and uptight), meet Juno, sign papers, and the year unfolds. Will Juno's plan work, can she improvise, and what about Bleeker?

KUNG FU PANDA (2008) (b)

"You cannot leave, because a real warrior never quits."

Comment:
Do you know that we all were born winner? It required a great spirit and courage to beat the other sperms to reach the egg. Now that we are all grown up and live as warriors to our lovers, parents, children and friends. Each of us has our own issues. The question is, are we going to quit as losers or go on as winners?

Summary of the Movie:
It’s the story about a lazy, irreverent slacker panda, named Po, who is the biggest fan of Kung Fu around…which doesn’t exactly come in handy while working everyday in his family noodle shop. Unexpectedly chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy, Po’s dreams become reality when he joins the world of Kung Fu and studies alongside his idols, the legendary Furious Five Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper, and Monkey—under the leadership of their guru, Master Shifu. But before they know it, the vengeful and treacherous snow leopard Tai Lung is headed their way, and it's up to Po to defend everyone from the oncoming threat. Can he turn his dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master into reality? Po puts his heart - and his girth - into the task, and the unlikely hero ultimately finds that his greatest weaknesses turn out to be his greatest strengths.

KUNG FU PANDA (2008) (a)

“Yesterday was a history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, that is why it is called the present."

Comment:
Without realizing, we all receive a present every day from God and the people who take care of us. It is just we are not grateful enough for what we've got. Yesterday has passed; there is no need to regret about it. Leave all the wrong behind and bring along the best to the present and the future. Tomorrow will always be a mystery. However, we may somehow have the vision of tomorrow if we do the best today. Be joy and be grateful for today is the present God has given to us. Have a nice and wonderful day!

LICENSE TO WED (2007)

“I keep their pictures in my wallet…to remind me that one man can make a difference even against insurmountable odds.”

Comment:
I once read a story about a man on a beach who picks hundreds of star fish and throw them back into the sea. He does it every afternoon. Then comes a man and asks him “don’t you have something else to do? Because it seems
to me that what you are doing is worthless. Anyway, there is a department that takes care of the wilderness. Why don’t you just give up trying to change the world?” then the man replies as he continues throwing a starfish “well, this one does change the world.”
The world does not need us to be a leader or a very famous person to change it to be a better place. We can simply change it by doing what we can. Throwing garbage into a trash can, unplug the charger of a cell phone after using it, smile to the neighbors around us are few of many simple things we can do to make a different and change the world into a better place.

Summary of the Movie:
Sadie and Ben are in love, and although Ben suggests getting married in the Caribbean, Sadie has her heart set on a wedding at the family church, St. Augustine's. Ben says sure, and they meet with the pastor, Rev. Frank. The only date open for two years is three weeks away, and Frank insists the kids go through his marriage prep course. They're to write their own vows; he also demands chastity, bugs their apartment, initiates arguments, has them care for robot twins, creates friction between Ben and her family, and raises doubts in Sadie. Desperate, Ben looks for dirt on Frank. Can he undermine Frank's authority and keep Sadie's heart?

WHY DID I GET MARRIED (2007) (c)

“And in closing I would like everyone to remember the greatest achievement of any human being is to love God, yourself, and others.”

Comment:
It is true that nobody is perfect. We cannot be perfect but we can be a complete person. We are complete when we are full of love. What should we do to be full of love? Love God, yourself, and others. It sounds simple but practically, it has always been very difficult. But easy doesn’t enter grown up life right? Thus, from now on you can start spreading your love everywhere.

Summary of the Movie:
Dr. Patricia Agnew, a psychologist, has written a best seller about marriage: hers and those of three other couples who together take a week's vacation each year to ask themselves, "Why did I get married?" It's time for one of those weeks, and all four relationships are strained: Patricia and her husband Gavin have the shadow of grief between them; Terry believes that Diane has abandoned him for her work; Angela, who's built a successful business, belittles her husband Marcus, who works for her; Mike is cruel to Sheila, his religious, overweight wife. During the week, each person's secret comes out. Will these marriages survive?

WHY DID I GET MARRIED (2007) (b)

“One man’s ex can be another man’s treasure.”

Comment:
This is one of the opinions that make the world keeps turning. There is always love that fulfills each heart of a man despite the background off a woman. There is no such term “ex” for a woman because women are precious.

WHY DID I GET MARRIED (2007) (a)

“You know…if you’re not happy about the way you look then change it. Stop doubting yourself, it’s not attractive.”

Comment:
I use this line to deal with my friends who have low self esteem, especially girls with overweight problems. They come to me and start complaining about the way they look, their dress, and their hair. Then, I said to them,” you have two choices, you can be an indifferent person and ignore about the way you look, you can eat what you want, or in other words over confidence or you work out and find the solutions for you problem. You change it and start believing in yourself. You better of taking care of something else and be good at it than keep complaining about your over weight.”
The result is unbelievable; they become more focus on their life goals and change their look. I am happy when I can influence people to be a better person.

NOTEBOOK THE (2004) (a)

"Science only goes so far and then comes God."

Comment:
As human being, we always be proud of ourselves and thought that we can do everything in life on our own. We thought that we are strong, we got technologies and we have other people to back us up. However, we finally find it hurts so badly when those things above were unable to help us get out of our problems. We forget that there is a greater power in this world that we call God. Life will be complete if we can balance the relationship among God, other people and us.

ITALIAN JOB THE (2003)

"I trust everyone; it's the devil inside that I don't trust."

Comment:
I guess we cannot 100 percent trust someone, especially the one that we’ve just met. This quote plays its part best when I have to make a deal with a stranger. Everyone has a little devil inside. The problem is weather we control it or it controls us. Be careful with the person who has big devil inside him/her. s/he may crush us into pieces in the end.

Summary of the Movie:
The plan was flawless... the job was executed perfectly... the escape was clean. The only threat mastermind thief Charlie Croker never saw coming was a member of his own crew. After pulling off an amazing gold bullion heist from a heavily guarded palazzo in Venice, Italy, Charlie and his gang -- inside man Steve, computer genius Lyle, wheelman handsome Rob, explosives expert Left-Ear and veteran safecracker John Bridger - can't believe when one of them turns out to be a double-crosser. Enter Stella, a beautiful nerves-of-steel safecracker, who joins Charlie and his former gang when they follow the backstabber to California, where they plan to re-steal the gold by tapping into Los Angeles' traffic control system, manipulating signals and creating one of the biggest traffic jams in LA history. Now the job isn't the payoff, it's about payback

MAD MONEY (2008) (b)

"Money can't buy happiness, but it as sure as it can buy everything else."
"Money can buy happiness, nobody can tell you the difference”

Comment:
Money sure can’t buy happiness and some people probably would say “I am happy even though I don’t have much money”. However, will you say you are happy when your beloved ones are very sick in the hospital and you cannot afford to pay for the charge? Will you say you are happy when your children cannot get a proper education? Money sure can’t buy happiness, but it sure can buy everything else. That “everything else” is most of the times called “happiness”. That is why it is difficult for us to tell the difference. To have much money is not a bad thing but not having any money that is a very bad thing.

MAD MONEY (2008) (a)

“I have this theory crime is contagious. If I could just kind of get in the air and people can cadge from each other and when they are cadged, they change. And then they change other people. The truth is we're all capable of anything. You don't wanna believe it's true, but it is."

Comment:
As social creature, we cannot live alone. We need other people to complete us. However, we should be aware of who we pick to be our friends. A community is like a big wave. It will drag us in and bring us far away before we come to realize that we are not in the land anymore. If we hang out with the negative thinking people, then we soon or later will become like them. I myself like to see big waves. But I pick the right wave to surf. Find the community of successful and positive thinking people and you will become like them.

CLEANER THE (2007)

Comment:
It has been a human instinct to find comfort and avoid fear. We will do everything to find comfort and everything to avoid fear. However, in life, fear is inevitable. People have various kinds of fear. Some people are afraid of losing, some are afraid of darkness, ghost, bugs, reptile, etc. We can run faster when a dog is chasing us down because we are afraid the dog’s bite. We would do anything for our beloved ones to be cured from sickness because we are afraid of losing. We would scream and grab everything near to us to protect ourselves from reptiles. Nevertheless, we do it unconsciously. We do not realize that we can do incredible things when we are scared. We will be astonished by the reaction we did when wew were in fear after we got our feed back on the ground.
