THE LOVE GURU (2008) (a)

“The only way out is in.”

“What is it that you can’t face?”

“I can’t face my Ma.”
“Then, that’s what you have to face.”

Comment:
The two quotations above share something in common. It is to face your fear or problem, fix and conquer them. Guru Pitka wants us to deal with the problem by involving in it. He seemingly wants to assure us that even though the problem is as big as a mountain that it’d crushed us to the ground, we will stand still. Because we are Homo sapient, we have the instinct to survive over the trouble. The bottom line of this idea is just like we are sailing in a hurricane in the ocean. It’ll hit as harder if we try to retreat. And the worst case scenario, we sink to the bottom of the ocean. But, if we keep going on, the ship will get through the high waves and still sailing on the water.
From now on…be strong and face every fear and problem as if they are vitamins that’ll make you grow stronger every day.

Summary of the Movie:
In the Comedy “The Love Guru”, Pitka (Mike Myers in his first original character since Austin Powers) is an American who was left at the gate of an ashram in India as a child and raised by gurus. He moves back to the US to seek fame and fortune in the world of self help and spirituality. His unorthodox methods are put to the test when he must settle a rift between Toronto Maple Leaf Star hockey player Darren Roanoke (Romany Maleo) and his estranged wife.
After the split, Roanoke’s wife starts dating L.A. Kings star Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake) out of revenge, sending her husband into a major professional skid…to the horrors of the teams owner Jane Bullard (Jessica Alba) and coach Cherkov (Verne Troyer). Pitka must return the couple to marital nirvana and get Roanoke back on his game. So the team can break the 40-year-old “Bullard Curse” and win the Stanley Cup.

MIRACLE DOGS TOO (2006)

“Sometimes to be a hero you just need to be there for the people you love.”

Comment:
Define the term “Hero”! Hero sure has many meanings. This is only one of them. Too many times we are busy saving the world. Trying so hard to make the world a better place to live. But on the contrary, too many times we neglected the ones who love us and around us as well. They were there waiting for us to save their bad days, to laugh at their fun moments, to be supportive when it is the tears fall down. Through this quotes I found out that sometimes when the time is right, we don’t need to say a word. All we have to do is just be there and we can be an effective medicine for the sick. We don’t need weapons to be heroes, we just need to be there on our children’s graduation day or birthday party then we are heroes in their eyes. Be A “Hero” for the people you love.

Summary of the Movie:
Upon moving with his family to a new town and befriending a pair of magical mutts, a ten-year-old boy must choose between his love of animals and his desire to do the right thing in director Richard Gabai's affectionate family adventure. Like any young boy, Zack is nervous about moving to a new town. After happening across a pair of abandoned dogs with surprising magical powers though, Zack discovers that his new home may not be so bad after all. Now, with a pair of determined criminals struggling to steal the dogs for themselves and a growing determination to return his four-legged friends to their rightful owner, Zack sets out to thwart the thieves and ensure that his remarkable story has a happy ending.
