Comment:
Talking about the persons who’ve been standing beside us all along, or in this case friends, drives my thought to Facebook in an instant. Though, I am not a Facebook mania, I always feel good every time I sign out of Facebook. Whether we realize it or not, the interaction we get from the relationship with friends in the past somehow leads us back to the unforgettable fun memories we’ve been trough. A couple of days ago I met my high school buddy in Facebook. We hadn’t met since 11 years ago. Finding his profile has led me back to the time when we got drunk in the beach one night and shared our love stories while eating our fried chicken. Man…those glorious high school moments suddenly just popped up in front of me and caused me to feel great. Thus, like a chain reaction, the rest of the day went by in with a good feeling inside of me.

The same thing happened when I coincidently met my first love girlfriend in Facebook. It feels good when we can re-communicate again after we “vanished” in communication for quite a long time, without knowing each other’s story. I felt like I was in love again. And this has turned my day to something beautiful. From this communication with friends, I realized that the influence of friendship is so powerful in our life. This may be the reason why Facebook becomes so famous. Because everyone wants to keep in touch with the persons who’ve been with us all along

Successful people are people who can predict the future and be prepared for it. Carefully, make use of every opportunity.
There is a legend about why God created three look alike animals (donkeys, Horses, and Zebra). It is said that long time ago God saw that humans found it difficult to travel in a long distance while carrying goods. So God decided to send donkeys to help human to travel and to carry. Donkeys became the first animal to help human to travel and to carry. However, God noticed that donkeys weren’t fast and strong enough to help human in their activities. We, as human being should be grateful that we are given the free will. As long as we are alive and well, we have the same chance to do and be whatever we want to be. We must be careful, may lose control in using the free will. Therefore, there are rules, laws and religion to help us control our free will so that no body may suffer by other’s free will.

What would happen to senior people who used to work hard and got so much enjoyed with their job in the past and one day we ask them to quit? They’d feel like time moves so slowly. They’d feel like time is torturing them.
I got this experience whenever my grandfather, an 80 year-old man who couldn’t be far away from his beloved truck came to visit us. Can you imagine? A man as old as him is still driving a truck? Well I have to admit he is the most powerful man in real life compares in all the movies I’ve ever watched. Sitting and doing nothing would be the last thing he wants to do in a day.
In other occasion, I found a woman in her 70s who’s still working as a parking crew in a souvenir shop in Jogjakarta. She does it not for the sake of money, but for the sake of “something to do.”
The point that I’d like to share with all the young people around the globe is that, the spirit. We all must possess the same spirit as what they have. I believe our future will be brighter if we have that sirit within.

Comment:
The eyes are the window to the soul. They never lie. According to Deddy Corbuzier, a famous mentalist from Indonesia, in his book “Mantra” (2005), there is a way to find out whether a person lies or not only by looking at his/her eyes.
Basically, there are three points of view of human memory ability. The first one is the visual point of view; it has something to do with the things that are attractive to our eyes. The second one is Hearing. It records things that we heard in the past. And finally there is sense Taste or Feel.
When we are trying to remember things that are related to our sense of sight/visual, our eyes tend to look at upper left side, if they are things about our hearing sense then we tend to look at middle left direction. In addition, whenever we think about some things that influence our feeling or taste, our eyes will look at the lower right direction.
We tend to look at the opposites direction when we are trying to imagine things. For example, when you are trying to imagine about how you will look like if you have mustache and your head is bald, you’ll tend to look at upper right direction. The same things happen to the hearing, and feeling sense. The eyes directions between remember and imagining are contradicted.
Therefore, when we ask someone about the taste of food and the answer is “it’s delicious” but his/her eyes look at the lower right is means he/she is imagining or in other words he/she is making up a reason or he/she is lying.
We cannot simply say that this is a scientific science, however in reality, this phenomenon happens toward the way human brain works.

Comment:
This quotation reminds me of a Javanese term “Eling”. A couple of years ago, when I was in Jogjakarta, a good friend of mine taught me about Eling. Approximately, Eling is about concise or self awareness and how we control it even in a critical time. Or in other words, Eling means do not be panic in every situation even the worst one.
See… for example method you are about to perform in front of an audience, you feel so nervous. And you get stumble on the cable of the microphones. What will you do? Go back home and forget about the performance like it never happen? No way. You are the center of the attention; find the way to overcome it. Make some joke. Remember to Eling.
The former president of the USA is one of the people who are very good in implementing Eling. When someone threw shoes to him, he managed to avoid it and instead of getting mad and asking SS agents to kill the man, he just stayed calm, proceeded with the speech and even made some jokes. He managed to implement Eling.
There might be a question on how Eling plays its role when we are having a car accident? Well in the case like this, Eling works when at the critical moment, you can make the right decision to swerve the car to the right position. Eling works when you are checking to make sure that everyone in the car you are driving is okay. It works when you go and assure that your surroundings are okay as well. You control you emotion and you control your surroundings.
Finally, I just want to remind you to always Eling wherever you are. Make Eling as your affirmation so that you can control yourself and your surroundings, and when things get worse, you still san control them.

Somehow I think that communication plays a very important rule here. Wives finaly found out that their husbands had been cheating on them. Business partners got cheated because they thought they knew their partner very well. The way out for spouse is, find a private space and communicate it from heart to heart, face to face, focusing on the problem not the selfishness. And for the business partners? There is a good habit in some successful business men I know. They have custom to invite their business partner and their business partner’s family over dinner. I guess this is the moment to get to know each other better and to communicate their business. If we can’t really know anyone, at least we know someone better right?

She believes that she is somehow beautiful in some way. And there she is the richest woman on earth. She donates and supports many foundations. She never says bad thing about herself and other people. She makes the world a better place.
Another example comes from Japan. Not long ago a professor (I don’t remember his name) once made an experiment to two glasses of water. He invited some monks to pray and say good things in front of the first glass. For the second glass of water, he invited some people to curse and condemned the glass of water. What happened to those glasses of water after he examined them under a microscope? The water in the first glass somehow became crystal colored. It’s interesting that the second glass of water turned to black and poison.

The two quotations above share something in common. It is to face your fear or problem, fix and conquer them. Guru Pitka wants us to deal with the problem by involving in it. He seemingly wants to assure us that even though the problem is as big as a mountain that it’d crushed us to the ground, we will stand still. Because we are Homo sapient, we have the instinct to survive over the trouble. The bottom line of this idea is just like we are sailing in a hurricane in the ocean. It’ll hit as harder if we try to retreat. And the worst case scenario, we sink to the bottom of the ocean. But, if we keep going on, the ship will get through the high waves and still sailing on the water.
From now on…be strong and face every fear and problem as if they are vitamins that’ll make you grow stronger every day.

It seems that the character in the movie asked directly to me. It made me stop for a while and ask myself “what the fuck have I done lately?” This quotation has become a self reinventing for the resolution we made in the past. The resolution we made on our last birthday, at New Year’s Eve, at the new office etc. It made me realize how far my life's been derailed from the resolution track. And now it’s time to fix the wrong way and get back on the track again. Dreams and plans will not be sufficient. We need more than that. We need action. In order for the action to work properly, we need to keep the spirit alive. Spirit is like eating. We’ll get exhausted every time we get hungry or bored. Therefore, we have to renew and refresh our spirit all the time. Refresh our spirit and encouragement like eating or taking a bath. We need them every day.

I hate to lose, and I am certain that you hate it too. Life is most of the time like a game or competition. In every aspect of life there are always win or lose. We laugh and celebrate when winning comes to our side. But, when we are fighting for our goal of life we sometimes stumble and lose. When we lose, we act beyond our control. Some people find it hard to go through when they lose. They destroy things. They take anarchy as their way.
Recently I got a good example from Hilary Clinton, one of the senators who went for president candidate in USA. After a head to head with Barack Obama, she lost the chance to be the next president candidate. Instead of protesting and showing dissatisfaction, she gave her total support to her Democrat fellow. She shows as what it is to win like a lady, lose like a lady. She has shown us what democracy means.
No matter we win or lose in life, let’s make it as something that we must deal every day. Willing to accept the fact that we may lose sometimes, but it doesn’t mean that we are losers. It will help us to be a better person because we will learn something from there.
Never be afraid to compete. We learn many useful things from competition. Keep your head up no mater it is win, lose or draw in the end of the day.

Comment:
Actually this quote is rather personal. I used to be a coward who couldn’t finish what I had started. I quitted when I was about one inch left to the finish line. I couldn’t handle the pressure. However, I learnt that I will never embrace success if I keep quitting for the things I had done. Today, I take every pressure as the vitamins to grow better. Pressure can crack pipes but pressure can make diamonds too.

The world does not need us to be a leader or a very famous person to change it to be a better place. We can simply change it by doing what we can. Throwing garbage into a trash can, unplug the charger of a cell phone after using it, smile to the neighbors around us are few of many simple things we can do to make a different and change the world into a better place.

I use this line to deal with my friends who have low self esteem, especially girls with overweight problems. They come to me and start complaining about the way they look, their dress, and their hair. Then, I said to them,” you have two choices, you can be an indifferent person and ignore about the way you look, you can eat what you want, or in other words over confidence or you work out and find the solutions for you problem. You change it and start believing in yourself. You better of taking care of something else and be good at it than keep complaining about your over weight.”
The result is unbelievable; they become more focus on their life goals and change their look. I am happy when I can influence people to be a better person.

His commender gives him a choice - quit or take a position as an instructor at the USCG training facility in Louisiana. Reluctantly he takes the position. Moving into the school, he immediately increases the 18 week curriculum that routinely fails half of the people that attend. Here he meets a young man with unlimited potential, but with some secret that seems to hold him back as a team player. Delving into his past, links are found that make him a psychic twin to the older man. Thrown into the midst of the story is a romance with a local girl. Rescue missions punctuate the beginning and end of the story with the training sessions in the center of the film.

We live, grow up and become a mature by conquering the challenge in each level of life the we face daily.

There are two ways in life, the right way and the wrong way. It depends on us to choose. If we decide choose the right thing then the road is going to be tough. However, the achievement is immense and brings peace to the heart and soul. To see the world from the top of a mountain is a wonderful experience. But the road to the top of the mountain is the hardest thing to do. Once we get there, there is nothing compares to it. In conclusion, keep your days bright and keep doing the right thing though it may be hard. Believe that someday we are going to harvest the finest fruit we had grown for so long.

Have we looked at ourselves in the mirror today? I mean really look at ourselves. We sometimes wonder why it is so hard for us to be accepted in a community. The reason can surprise us. It is because we ignore about the way we look. People like people with the same interest. It will be rather doubtful for other people to get involved with somebody who is unable to appreciate him/herself. How would the person take care their relationship or even other people if s/he is being indifference about s/he own performance. Try upgrading your outfit, smile more, and be sympathetic about your surroundings than people will care about you.

See…even Batman fell before he became a very popular man in Gotham City and all over the world. He fell, but then he picked himself up. I used to be a loser. I thought that life has no purpose. All that I did always stuck in the end of everything I was working on. I had never got through all the obstacles that I encountered. Now, I realize that all those failure and obstacles in the past are just precious experience that I can use in the present.
What a fortunate that I found this quote. When we were younger we fall many times but we consistently keep on trying every way. As we grow older our fall become a very valuable map to build our golden way.

Summary of the Movie:

When it becomes the character, it will be difficult for us to get rid of it. Therefore, be certain of the step you are going to take in life.
For those who have had the chance to get out of the “ghetto”, this could be a warning to always remember where we come from but let yourself not to go back into that place. Encourage more people to go out of the “ghetto”. Share them the tips about how you are managed to get out of the “ghetto”.

We often ask ourselves “what am I doing?”, “is this what I am after?”, “is this job suitable for me?”, “is s/he the one for me?”, “what the hell is that person doing?”. Welcome to the real wild world.somebody’s got to do something, though we may not know what we are exactly doing.
Too many times, we only think inside the box. We must think outside the box of tradition, definition and image to be the one who stand in the crowd. Be sure of what you are doing. The world needs creative people. So, be creative. Those who stop creating are literally dead. Believe that there is a light at the end side of the tunnel.

Movie is one of the great inventions throughout human being’s history. It is undeniable that movies have become part of our lives. Nowadays, movies can be found and enjoyed in various forms. DVD, Cinema, VCD, tapes, internet, cellular phones or TV. Those are well known media to access movies. It is all up to us. When we want to enjoy it for free, we can simply turn on the TV and going through the channels. When we want it to be cheap we can hunt for piracy movies which are not that difficult to find in some countries. If it is up to date that matters then we can download them from the official web sites on the net.

Movies are produced in many genres and purposes. On one hand, they can be fun, enjoyable, entertaining, meaningful, easy to understand, media to communicate, full of surprise etc. while on the other hand, movies can be boring, provoking, and deceitful.

However, as a movies maniac I do not care about the purpose of why the movies are being produced. All I know is that movies are made to entertain us. Nothing can stop me when I am watching movies. Moreover, I had this crazy idea several years ago. I felt that some lines in the dialogue help me to discover myself and motivate me. For example, quotes such as “at least you’ve been somewhere” (Stuart Little) or “Why do we fall Bruce? So we can learn to pick us up” (Batman Begins) always strengthen me whenever I am facing with failures or discourage. Since that moment, movies have become a second bible to me.

Thus, I cannot keep them for myself. I feel like I need to share this quotes to the world. I am sure that some of these quotes have something to do with each of our lives.
